Obituary for MRS. ALICE ROYCE

Mrs. Alice Royce, 77, of Rt. 1, Newburg, died Monday (January 27, 1958) at 1:15
p.m. in the Grafton City Hospital. She had been in ill health for one year.

Born in Preston County on Nov. 19, 1889, she was the daughter of the late Hugh
J. and Ursula Bolyard Pierce. She was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church.

Her husband, Perlie Royce, preceded he in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Hovatter of Evansville; two sons,
Dorsey Royce of Newburg and Darrell, at home; two brothers, Charles Pierce of
California and William Pierce of Morgantown; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Robinson of
Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Burton Shahan of Rt. 2, Newburg, seven grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren.
