John Hyson Rogers, 82, of Kasson, Route 2, died Sunday (August 3, 1958) at his
home following a long illness.

He was born in Taylor County, the son of the late Thomas and Virginia Courtney
Rogers.

Twice married, his first wife was the late Virginia Knotts Rogers.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Atha C. Myers Rogers of Kasson; two children
by his first marriage, Woodrow Rogers of Wellsburg, and Mrs. Inez Emerson of
Rowlesburg; two sons by the last marriage, William Rogers of Junior and Charles
Rogers with the U.S. Army in Germany; four daughters, Mrs. C. J. Gainer and Miss
Nettie Rogers both of Elyria, Ohio, Mrs. Robert Beeler of Glen Burnie, Md., and
Miss Laura Rogers at home; 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He resided in Rowlesburg and owned and operated a store for many years before
locating at Kasson, where he had followed mining and farming. He was a member of
the Baptist Church at Kassan.
