This is a photo of my gr grandfather's marker.  His real name was Thomas 
Daniel Wells, born 28 Jan 1849, died 11 July 1924.  He was first married to a 
Lucy Virginia Jolly in Sandy Creek, Warren, NC and had 4 children.  He then 
skipped out on his family, changed his name to TD (and was called both Turner 
and T. Dad) He remarried 10 Feb 1886 in Mercer Co to my gr grandmother, 
Marinda Barbara Garretson.  They had 4 children and my line comes off their 
2nd child-Sallie Myrtle Wells.  Sallie's child, (Wm Drexel Messer-my father) 
would be raised by TD and Marinda Wells after Sallie married for a 2nd time.  
TD was known as very secretive about his past (obviously for leaving his first 
family) and family history believes that his 2nd wife did not know the full 
story.

Additional Comments:
Photo was taken by my dad in 1974 when he was able to make a long time dreamed 
for visit back to WV.
