EDDY Dempsey D. Eddy, 69, of Farmington, died Wednesday morning (December 22, 1971) at Clarksburg Hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1902, in Monongalia County, a son of the late Peter and Pamelia Pyles Eddy. He was a retire worker at Eastern Gas and Fuel Corp Grant Town Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers Local No. 4047. Survivors include the widow, Rhoda Reed Eddy; six sons, Marvin of Grant Town, Gordon of Fairmont, and Donald, Raymond, Richard and Keith all of Detroit; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Wolfe of New Salem, Pa., and Mrs. Dorene Chambers of Washington and Mrs. Leola Eddy of Detrois and Miss Vicky Lynn Moore at home; one brother William of Fairview; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Gump of Wana and Mrs. Audie Phillips of Fairview and 38 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melinda Ellen Tennant and three daughters. Friends may call at the Curry Funeral Home in Fairview where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Evangelist Earl P. Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Pyles Cemetery.
