DEATH OF A PIONEER
J. B. Baumgardner, one of the aged and most highly respected citizens of 
Barboursville, died at six o'clock last evening after an illness of but a 
week. He was seventy years of age and had resided in Cabell county the greater 
part of his life. He served this county two terms as justice of the peace and 
was a faithful official. For many years he had been a devout member of the M. 
E. church, south. A wife and five children survive him. The funeral service 
will be conducted at Barboursville at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon and the 
remains will be interred in the cemetery at that place.
