Obituary: Winnebago County, Wisconsin: Frederick BOGK ************************************************************************ Submitted by Kathy Grace, April 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Daily Northwestern July 26, 1927 p.5 Butte des Morts man, ill many months, dies at home of his sister Butte des Morts, Wis.- Frederick Bogk of Butte des Morts died Monday at the home of his sister in Butte des Morts, Mrs. Bertha Bae, after an illness that began in the fall of 1926. Mr. Bogk was 71 years of age at the time of his death. He was born in 1856 at Sheboygan Falls. He moved to Butte des Morts at an early age and lived at that place nearly all of his life. For the last thirty-five years he had lived at the home of his sister, Mrs. Bae. He was confined to his bed for two weeks preceding his death. Mr. Bogk had suffered from cardiac asthma for forty-eight years. Mr. Bogk was known in Oshkosh and Butte des Morts. When the lights were established on the Fox river and Lake Butte des Morts, he was given the position of government lighthouse keeper, a position he held for eighteen years. He was forced to resign during the spring of this year because of his failing health. He is survived by one brother, Edward Bogk, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Bae, both of Butte des Morts, and one nephew and one niece. Funeral services will be hold at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Bertha Bae. Interment will be at the Plummer cemetery.
