ASSEMBLYMEN. IRVINE L. LENROOT, Speaker; C. 0. MARSH, Chief Clerk; A. M. Anderson, Sergeant-at-Arms. The assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1003 contains 75 republicans and 25 democrats. LA CROSSE COUNTY. Second District. The towns of Bangor, Barre, Burns, Farmington, Greenfield, Hamilton, Holland, Onalaska, Shelby and Washington, the villages of Bangor and West Salem, the 3d, 8th, 17th and ISth wards of the city of La Crosse, and the city of Onalaska. Population, 1900—21,157. THOMAS JOHNSON (Rep.), was born in Norway, March 10, 1854. Came with his parents to La Crosse county in 1859; received a common school education; held the office of assessor of his town several years, and chairman twelve years; is president of the Lolrnan Creamery company and secretary of the Scandinavian Farmers' Mutual Insurance company of La Crosse county, and is at the present time treasurer of his town. Was elected member of assembly in 1902, receiving 1,770 votes against 1,084 for Elias Jones (Dem.), and 103 for John N. Jones (Pro.). Additional Comments: The Blue Book of the State of Wisconsin.
