They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. See new apportionment following biographies.) NATHAN E. LANE (Rep.), of the city of Phillips, Price county, who was elected to the assembly in 1900 by 4,714 votes, against 1,768 for Oscar F. Darwin (Dem.), and 127 for Griffith Davis (Pro.), was born in the town of Oases, Waushara county, Sept. 8, 1862. He has held We positions of town treasurer, cashier of the Bank of Dorchester, Clark county, cashier of the State Bank of Phillips, of which he is a stockholder and director, and is at present mayor of the city of Phillips. He is also engaged In are insurance business. His education was obtained in the schools of Waushara county.
