Levi E. Latimer was born in the town of Bloomfield, near Hartford, Conn., 
April 12, 1838, and lived there until 1858, when he went to La Porte, Ind., 
and studied law.  He came to Eau Claire June, 1860, and engaged in the 
practice of law until 1872, when he became municipal judge, which office 
he held for six years. He also held various town offices, and in 1878 
engaged in the real estate business.  He subsequently moved to Chicago, 
where he died in 1909 or 1910.
