Demers Obituary from Wed, July 28, 1971 Rice Lake Chronotype HL: Eugene Demers, 82, Buried in Rice Lake "Eugene F. Demers, 82, a lifelong resident and farmer in the area just west of Rice Lake, died Friday at the Northland Care Center here after a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church with Rev. John Drummy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Demers was born June 4, 1889 in Rice Lake, is survived by eight sons, Clarence of Red Wing, Minn., Elmer of Indianapolis, Malcolm, Duane and Joe of Milwaukee, and Donald, Patrick and LeRoy of Rice Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Bard of Duluth and Mrs. Marcella Greisen and Mrs. Leona Richter of Rice Lake; 65 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Henry Crotteau of Rice Lake."
