He was born April 24, 1934, in Kelso to Carl James and Carrie Edna (Byers) White. He graduated from Kalama High School in 1952. Mr. White served in the Navy as a machinist mate third class during the Korean War. He returned home in 1961 and retired from the Reynolds Metals Co., in 1991 after 22 years as a cast house foreman. He married Carol A. Newman in 1972. She survives him. Also surviving are three daughters, Kimberly Barker, Debra Traub and Connie Bryant; three brothers, Bob White, Chester White and Barry White; two sisters, Brownie Preston and Nancy Jacobs; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Kalama VFW Post No. 10435 will host a celebration of his life and potluck at 2 p.m. Sunday at the IOOF Hall in Kalama. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post No. 10435 High School College Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1028, Kalama, WA 98625.
