Vivian Mae Vogel, 84, lifetime local resident, passed away at the Hospice Care 
Center on December 29, 2005.

She was born in Thorn, North Dakota on September 14, 1921 to Mr. & Mrs. George 
and Lodema Ells.  She married Leonard Wade Vogel in Cowlitz County on September 
13, 1938.  Over the years she worked as a Nurses Aide for the Longview 
Sanitarium and she also operated the "Hamburger Shop" by the Columbia Theater 
for many years.  When she was younger, her and her husband loved to take trips 
to the beach to go clamming & fishing with their children.  She also loved 
playing Bingo, doing handcrafts and adored cuddling babies.  She was also a 
lifetime member of the Sunnyside Grange, longtime member of Eastern Star and a 
member of the Longview Eagles.  

She was preceded in death by two sons; Veril Vogel & Lyle Vogel, two brothers 
and nine sisters.

Survivors include: Son, William L. Vogel of Estacada, Oregon, Daughters; 
Jeanette Banta of Rainier, Oregon and Marge Johnson of Longview, a Special 
Niece; Fern Heitz of Longview.  There are also 15 Grandchildren and numerous 
Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Committal Service - Green Hills Memorial Gardens - Wednesday - January 4, 2006 -
 11:00 A.M.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Community 
Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA  98632.  Friends are welcome 
to pay their respects at the Funeral Home on Monday, January 2, 2006 from Noon 
to 5:00 P.M. and Tuedsay from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  

Columbia Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
