He was born October 25, 1942 in Bellingham, Washington to Richard and Jean Norton.Donald was a resident of Kelso for 40 years. He taught chemistry at Kelso High School for 31 years. He received a regional Science Teachers Award, was the Science Department Chairman, the Night Activities Director, the Science Club Advisor and negotiated contracts for the KEA. He received a Masters of Chemistry from Reed College in Oregon. Donald was an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Kelso. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife Sharon, of Coeur d'Alene; his daughter and son-in- law Holly and Jason Bruns and grandson Adam of Coeur d'Alene; his mother Jane Norton of Bellingham; his sister Sandy Williams and niece Becky Gill, both of Spokane Valley, Washington. Donald was preceded in death by his father.Memorial service will be held at a later date in Kelso. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
