Robert (Bob) Miller of Longview, died November 18, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born March 29, 1933 in Robinson, North Dakota to Fred Andros and Jeanne Irene (Mourer) Miller. Bob graduated from Robinson High School. He served in the US Army 66th Signal Corp; honorably discharged in 1955. He married Patricia Alice O'Brien in 1956 in Brooten, Minnesota. Bob worked for the Northern Pacific and Soo Line Railroads as an agent-telegrapher in North Dakota and Minnesota. In 1966 Bob, Pat, and their daughter Linda moved to Longview. Bob attended Lower College and then worked for the City of Longview until his retirement. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, jogging, going to the beach, especially Seaside, Oregon. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; a daughter, Linda Johnson and husband Don of Molalla, Oregon; and 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Loren; a sister, Edith Sloat and husband Orland of West Fargo, North Dakota; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Leona Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth and grandniece, Lisa Dodge. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church, Longview with Rev. Barry Stueve officiating. Columbia Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
