She was born January 3, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa to Richard H. and Shirley Mae (Bock) Baxter. She moved to Longview in 1967 from Portland, Oregon. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1972 and attended business college in Portland. She moved back to Longview to work at The Daily News and worked there for 32 years. She loved her work. She had a very strong work ethic. Pam had a great sense of humor and is remembered as a wonderful cook who loved to have company and feed them. She loved people and was generous and giving but had a private side, too. She was a Seahawks fan and loved a good party. Her grandson, Trever, was a great blessing in her life. She loved her home and decorating. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and loved to read. Pam had a big heart and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She is survived by son and daughter- in-law Shane and Melanie Doughten of West Jordan, Utah, son Sean Doughten of Longview, sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Greg Brown of Longview and sister and brother-in-law Paula Welsh-Holquist and Paul Holquist of Graham, Washington, mother, Shirley Baxter of Graham, Washington, grandson, Trever Doughten of Longview and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Steven Josephson in 2005 and her father Richard Baxter in 1998. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 17, 2006 at 4:00p.m. at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park, with Reverend Timothy Berg officiating. Private Internment will be held at Longview Memorial Park. Arrangements by Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park and Crematory.
