Arthur Jacob Hixson, 93, of Longview died March 26, 2006. 

He was born May 14, 1912, in La Center, Wash., to Harry Haze and Lillian 
(Rathbun) Hixson. He graduated from Vernonia High School (Ore.) in 1929 and 
moved to the local area from Grants Pass, Ore., in 1945. 

Mr. Hixson was the founding owner of Longview Auto Supply from 1946 to 1949. He 
owned Art's Electric from 1965 to 1975 and later worked there from 1983 to 
1988. 

His wife, Mattie (McElligott) Hixson, preceded him in death Jan. 26, 2005. 

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jean "Jeanne" Boaglio; a sister, Betty 
Clifton; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-
grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at New Life Fellowship 
Church of God. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. 
Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632. 

Arrangements are by Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory.
