Thomas Whitehead died at his home near Courtland March 22, in his 36th year, after a brief illness from pneumonia following influenza. He was an upright, conscientious and honorable citizen in his community and a kind and loving husband and father. He leaves to mourn their loss his widow, who was Miss Virginia Vaughan; three children, Leslie, Eleanor and Lucy Whitehead; a father, Mr. J.W. Whitehead; three brothers, R.E., G.C. and F.W. Whitehead; two sisters, Mrs. S.A. Whitehead and Mrs. J.H. Hill all of the Courtland community, besides other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.H. Riddick at his late home Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the family burying ground.
