All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.org/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ANNIE DEAL VINCENT Mrs. Annie Deal Vincent, 81, widow of Robert Fletcher Vincent, died at the home in Newsoms of her daughter, Mrs. D.B. Rountree, Wednesday morning, January 12, at 4:15 o’clock. The daughter of the late William Henry and Caroline Bryant Deal, Mrs. Vincent was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church, the Woman’s Missoinary Society of the church, and the WCTU, taking an active part in the work of these organizations as long as her health permitted. Besides her daughter, she is survived by a son, Hugh C. Vincent of Newsoms; a sister, Miss Minnie Deal of Newsoms; three grandchildren, Pvt. Lemuel V. Rountree of Fort Jackson, S.C., Hugh C. Vincent, Jr., a student at North Carolina State College, Raleigh, and Mrs. J.C. Sakes of French Morocco, North Africa; and one great-grandson, Gregory James Sakes. Funeral services were conducted at the late residence on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. L.F. Smith, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church. A quartet composed of Mrs. J.C. Bunn, Sr., Mrs. L.F. Smith, E. Beale Carter, Sr., and Rev. O.L. Gochenour sang the hymn, "It is well with my Soul," accompanied at the piano by Miss Jackson Cogsdale. Burial was in the Deal family cemetery near Newsoms. The active pallbearers were Roy Bradshaw, Earnest Cogsdale, P. D. Crumpler, L.J. Francis, Donald Rountree and Gay Rountree.
