The death of this accomplished and Christian lady leaves a gap in the family circle which never be filled. Married very early, her life had been full of sunshine and happiness. So happy was she in love of her and her children who had grown up around her to gladden and bless her life, that she might well have been pardoned had she desired to clip the wings of time and live on here forever. But true Christian as she was, she knew that this life was not all; that it was but a step to a higher, a nobler and more perfect one beyond the tomb, and always held herself ready to obey the call and pay the last great demand of nature. Her daily walk in life born witness to her faith. A true friend, a kind neighbor and from him that would ask, she turned not away; generous and hospitable those who have so often gathered around her hospital board will miss her warm welcome and genial smile. She has gone - "Escaped the gloom of life, an immortal soul, Here leaves its moldering tenement of clay, Safe where no cares the whelming billows roll, No doubts bewilder and no hopes betray."
