MARY JANE GRAY NURNEY

   Courtland, Sept. 3 - Mrs. Mary Jane Gray Nurney, 67, well known and life 
long resident of Southampton County, died early today after having been in ill 
health for some months.

   Mrs. Nurney was the wife of W.W. Nurney of Courtland, and the daughter of 
the late Henry Lewis and Mrs. Mobray Caroon Gray, of Southampton County.

   She was a member of the Boykins Baptist Church.

   In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gladys 
Nurney Whitehead, Mrs. Milma N. Bryant, Mrs. Nellie N. Ballard, and Mrs. 
Margaret N. Majette, all of Courtland, sever grandchildren; one brother, W.E. 
Gray of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Nurney, of Capron, and Mrs. Helen Rock 
of Boykins, and one nephew, Elmore Rock of Boykins.

   The body was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland and Sons, Franklin, 
pending completion of funeral arrangements.
