ELLA JOYNER NICHOLSON Capron, May 14 - Mrs. Ella Joyner Nicholson, 83, well-known resident of the Capron Community, died Tuesday night [5/13] in Norfolk General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph Manning Nicholson and the daughter of the late Richard Henry and Annie Jackson Joyner, of Southampton County. Mrs. Nicholson was a lifetime member and teacher of the Applewhite Methodist Church and faithful worker in the Ladies' Missionary societies of the church. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Annie Kitchen, Capron; Mrs. Pearl Wells, Huston, Tex; Mrs. Daisy Edwards and Mrs. Ruby McKinnon, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Mary Johnson, Hilton Village; one son Robert Lee Nicholson, Capron; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Eva Lowe, Hopewell; four brothers, Walter and Joe Henry Joyner, Capron; Paul Joyner, Norfolk, and Tommie Joyner, Emporia, and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, and on Thursday at noon will be taken to Applewhite Methodist Church near Capron, where it will lie in state for one hour prior to funeral services, which will be held at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev.
