All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.org/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JESSE THOMAS MARKS Jesse Thomas Marks, 25, of the Courtland community, died in the McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, on Saturday morning, February 2, after a lingering illness. A member of the Capron Methodist Church, Mr. Marks was the son of Mrs. Ethel Davis Marks of Courtland and the late Henry Earl Marks. He was an employee of the Camp Manufacturing Company, and a veteran of World War II. Surviving him besides his mother are three brothers, Benjamin and Aubrey Pope Marks of Courtland and Lon Marks of Capron, and one sister, Mrs. R. C. Bulls, Jr., of Courtland. Graveside services were held in the Capron Cemetery on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, with Revs. J. T. Cassell of Capron and O. L. Gilliam of Courtland officiating. The pallbearers were Fletcher Crichton, Milton Francis, Vernie W. Francis, Cooper Gillette, Richard Kello, Irvin Potter, Willie Whitehead and Sidney Williams.
