A. Mumford's Child in Southampton County. SUFFOLK, VA., February 13.-(Spe- cial.)-A young daughter of Mr. M. A. Mumford, of Southampton county, was burned to death on her father's farm last Monday. The hands had fires built in the field to warm by, and in some way the little one's dress became ignited. She ran acrooss the field screaming for help, but before she could be overtaken, the flames had done their deadly work.
