EFFIE LANKFORD LANKFORD

MRS. EFFIE L. LANKFORD

   Mrs. Effie L. Lankford, 73, a lifelong resident of the county, died suddenly 
on Thursday morning, July 19, at her home near Sedley.

   She was the wife of Oliver Grant Lankford, who survives her, and the 
daughter of the late Wallace and Martha Joyner Lankford of Southampton County. 
She was a member of the Sedley Friends Meeting.

   In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kennie 
Blythe of Sedley and Mrs. H.A. Blythe of Franklin; and six grandchildren and 
six great-grandchildren.

   Services were held at the grave in the family cemetery near Sedley on Friday 
afternoon at 4 o'clock, with James A. Coney and Rev. E.N. Hassell officiating. 
The active pallbearers were Arthur Carr, Presley Cobb, Elijah Joyner, H.A. 
Lankford, R.R. Lankford, and V.C. Lankford.
