JOHN THOMAS GRIZZARD

JOHN T. GRIZZARD

   John Thomas Grizzard, 73, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Albert 
E. Cobb near Drewryville Tuesday afternoon, August 7, after a long illness. 

   Mr. Grizzard was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Southampton 
county and a member of Persons Methodist Church. He was the husband of the late 
Mrs. Ethel Harrison Grizzard and son of the late George E. and Mrs. Rebecca 
Spence Grizzard. 

   Besides his daughter, surviving are two sons, Amos P. Grizzard of 
Drewryville, and Thomas J. Grizzard of Richmond; six grandchildren and a number 
of nieces and nephews. 

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Persons Methodist Church 
with Rev. William Ferguson, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Leonard R. 
Black, retired Methodist minister of Norfolk, and Rev. William Stennett, pastor 
of Hebron Baptist Church. Interment will be Persons Church Cemetery.
