GILLIAM Mrs. Antionette Harris Gilliam, 89 (known to her close friends as "Miss Nettie"), widow of John Everett Gilliam, died Sunday night at 9:40 in a Richmond hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Southampton County, the daughter of Fabian Lewis and Mrs. Ann H. Harris, and came to make her home with her aunt, Mrs. Henry Rawls, at nearby Franklin at an early age. She attended Finney College in Suffolk. Except for a period between 1893 and 1907 when the family lived in Newport News and Norfolk, she had made her home in Franklin, where she was one of the oldest members of High Street Methodist Church. Mrs. Gilliam is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Claire Gilliam Simpson, and a son, Edward Franklin Gilliam, both of Franklin; a granddaughter, Mrs. June Fox Schiro of Cincinnati, Ohio; a great-grandson, Jack Schiro,of Cincinnati, and two great-granddaughters, Caron Schiro of Cincinnati, and Mrs. John H. Lane of Durham, N.C. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the graveside in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Rev. James W. Turner and Rev. J.S. Maxey. The pallbearers were G. Carl Steinhardt, W.T. Pace, Jr., R.A. Pretlow, Jr., Samuel Bradshaw, W.M. Weede, J.Linwood Edwards, R. Ellsworth Jones, and C.C. Vaughan, III. [Antionette (HARRIS; Mrs. John E.)
