NELIA B. GRIFFIN EDWARDS

MRS. NELIA G. EDWARDS DIES IN SOUTHAMPTON

   Courtland - Jan. 22 - Mrs. Nelia Griffin Edwards, 74, well-known resident of 
the Courtland community and Southampton Couonty, died last night at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. W.T. Worrell, near Courtland, after a brief illness.

   She was the widow of B.T. Edwards, of Southampton County, and daughter of 
the late Benjamin and Nelie Griffin, of Newsoms.

   Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Capron Baptist Church, were she served many 
years.

   Surviving are five sons, P.D. Edwards, Jr., W.B. Edwards and C.F. Edwards, 
all of Joyners; J.O. Edwards, of Capron, and L.R. Edwards, of Emporia; three 
daughters, Mrs. J.N. Johnson, of Emporia; Mrs. P.T. Blood, of Richmond, and Mrs. 
W.T. Worrell; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. L.P. 
Williams, of Capron.

   Funeral services will be held from the home of Mrs. Worrell at 2:30 o’clock 
Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Jennings. Burial will be in Capron 
Cemetery.
