DOUGHTIE Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Modlin Doughtie, prominent resident of Zuni, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. L.B. Allen, pastor of Black Creek Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson, former pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, and Rev. George Kissinger of Achilles, Gloucester County. Mrs. Doughtie, 76, died late Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hoen M. Edwards. She was the widow of Joseph Lee Doughtie of the Black Creek community and the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Mary Hill Modlin of Hertford, N.C. She was an active member of Black Creek Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to her daughter, are a grandson, Hoen M. Edwards, Jr., of Zuni; two brothers, J.W. Modlin of Virginia Beach and H.L. Modlin of Knoxville, Tenn., and a number of nieces and nephews. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were W.R. Ward, M.E. Ward, E.W. Modlin, J.R. Modlin, V.E. Modlin, E.E.
