Carr, sister HOLLAND CARR, in the ninety fifth year of her age. She was baptized by Elder Robert T. Daniel and joined Black Creek Church, in Southampton County, about 1827. In 1828, she was one of the twenty four that entered into the organization of Beaver Dam Church, in Isle of Wight. Here she remained a faithful member till her death - a period of fifty seven years. Only two of her six children are now living - James A. Carr and Mills Carr. In her last days, she wished her brethren and sisters in the church to come and talk with her. Though she could not enjoy the presence of her brethren and sisters as she wished, we feel sure she now enjoys the presence of Jesus. Her funeral services were conducted by the writer. BY: J.A. Johnson [Note: Holland A. Corbitt Carr was the widow of Elisha Carr, (son of Mills Carr Sr and Honour Carr) and she was the daughter of Samuel Corbitt and Obedience (Beady) English. She had three sons, James, Mills and Matthew Carr, and two daughters, Sarah Ann (Sally) Carr who married Norris Stephenson and Obedience (Beady) Carr who married Elisha Joyner. I do not know whether the sixth child was male or female!! Holland A. Corbitt and Elisha Carr were my great great great grandparents. (pvm)] [Holland A.
