She was the widow of Floyd Bryant and daughter of the late Richard Augustus Gurley and Mary Frances Applewhite Gurley, of Southampton County. She was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church, of the Suffolk Chapter of the WCTU and of the Silver Cross Circle of King’s Daughters. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. F. Hurley and Mrs. W.S. Matteson, of Suffolk; Mrs. Frank Spring and Mmrs. Jack Hope, of Norfolk; a brother, R. Clyde Gurley of Suffolk; eight Grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. George S. Lightner, pastor of Main Street Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
