ALICE BRYANT Mrs. Alice Bryant died on January 21, 1916, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.B. Cobb of Courtland in her 64th year. She was ill for only a week, being taken with grippe in the home of her son, M.R. Bryant, on the previous Friday, and at her request was carried to the home of her daughter. She had lived an estimable and useful life and was bright and cheerful almost to the very hour of her death. She was a faithful and consistent member of Trinity M.E. church and was preceded to the grave by her husband about 15 years ago. She is survived by three sons, J.W., G.L. and M.R. Bryant and one daughter, Mrs. A.B. Cobb, all of Courtland, and by one brother, Mr. Doll Eley of Suffolk, besides a host of friends and neighbors, The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.L. Burks, at the family burying ground at Mr.G.L. Bryant's in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The pallbearers were J.L. Cobb, Lonie Williford, John Bryant, Henry Babb, Tom Whitehead and George Whitehead.
