All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.org/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.org/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BERNARD BLYTHE Bernard Blythe, 33, a veteran of World War II and a resident of Franklin, died in the McGuire Hospital, Richmond, on Tuesday night, December 11, after an illness of several months. He was the son of Mrs. Lucille Brock Blythe and the late Tony Blythe of this county; and he was a member of Union Congregational Christian Church. Besides his mother he is survived by two brothers, Archie and Dempsey Blythe of Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Jenkins and Mrs. Odell Smith of Portsmouth, Mrs. Mabel Drake of Sedley, and Mrs. Margaeret Tharrington of Franklin; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were conducted at Union Church on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. Melvin Dollar, followed by interment in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The active pallbearers were Clinton, D.C., Edgar, Edward, James Lonnie, Morris and Phillip Blythe and J.G.
