She was born in Washington County to the late Gifford Franklin Campbell and Kansas Susan Smith Campbell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Peyton Hoover Campbell. Survivors include one son, Marlyn "Holmes" Campbell of Salem; one brother, G.R. Campbell of Saltville; one sister, Meda Laws of Saltville; a grandson, Glenn Campbell of Salem; two great-grandchildren, Katelin Campbell and Kyle Campbell, both of Salem; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Friday evening, March 4, 2005, at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Mahanaim Cemetery. The family received friends Friday evening, March 4, 2005, just prior to the funeral service. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is in charge of arrangements.
