Mr. Solomon Bradshaw died at his residence, near Holland, Nansemond County, Va., on Friday, December 16, 1892. The deceased having been born December 25, 1812, was anxious to live to see his eightieth birthday, and never were friends and neighbors more attentive and untiring in efforts to prolong life. At an early age, Mr. Bradshaw professed religion and joined Beaver Dam Baptist church. For sixty years he lived a consistent Christian life and few men were so noted for piety. He will be greatly missed in his church and community, as he was generally known and greatly beloved. His character was without spot or blemish and his life worthy of emulation. [Solomon Bradshaw was born December 25, 1812 Isle of Wight County, Va., to Jeremiah Bradshaw and Holland (Brewer) Beale Bradshaw. He married October 1835 to Hannah S Holland, widow of Riddick Darden and daughter of Job Holland and Patsy Baker Holland and sister to Augustus H. Holland. Solomon Bradshaw and Hannah Holland Darden Bradshaw were my great great grandparents. Solomon died December 16, 1892 and was buried beside his wife on the Bradshaw Family Cemetery on the family farm in Holland, Va.
