Richmond, Va., March 27. -- The unusual spectacle of a woman kidnapping her own 
children was witnessed in Henry county this evening, when Mrs. Charles M. 
Davidson took possession of her children and driving under a whip and lash kept 
a pursuing deputy sheriff from catching up with her until she reached the city.

Divorce proceedings are in progress between Mrs. Davidson and her husband.  The 
latter has been given the custody of the children.  Mrs. Davidson and her 
niece, accompanied by a deputy and attorney, went out this afternoon to get 
some things from the house.  While the men were in the house the niece enticed 
the children out to the buggy.  The mother sprang in and put out under whip and 
lash.  She won the race and has the children.
