GOOCHLAND COUNTY, VIRGINIA - DEED BOOK 3 INDENTURE Joseph Dabbs to Charles Lee and Anne 17 November 1741 Goochland County Deed Book 3, Page 494 THIS INDENTURE made the 17th day of November, 1741, between Joseph Dabbs of the County of Goochland of the one part and Charles Lee and Ann his wife of the other part, witnesseth that said Joseph Dabbs for and in consideration of the nature love, good will and affection which he hath and doth bear unto his Brother in Law Charles Lee and his sister Anne, wife of the said Charles Lee, hath given, granted, alined and confirmed and by the present doth give, grant aline and confirm unto the said Charles Lee and Anne, his wife, one certain tract or parsal of land situated lying and being on the West side Willis's River in Goochland County and thus bounded beginning at pointers in Orson Martin's line thereon his line North 45 degrees West 198 poles to pointers thereon North 45 degrees East 180 poles to pointers thereon new lines South 37 degrees East 179 poles to a corner Black Oak thereon South 38 degrees West 162 poles to the first station containing by estimation 200 acres both sound more or less (the said Joseph Dabbs reserving to himself and his heirs 4 acres part of the said 200 acres at a place where the mill stones for Randolph Cook Mill were got and made which said 4 acres is near or on the line or Orson Martin together with all houses, orchard, gardens, fences, woods, underwoods ways, water and water routs and advantages to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the said 200 acres of land and pertinances with their and every of their appertenances (except the 4 acres before conferred) unto the said Charles Lee and Anne, his wife to the only proper use of the said Charles Lee and Anne, his wife, an their heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph Dabbs for himself and his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said Charles Lee and Anne his wife their heirs and assigns that both the said Joseph Dabbs and his heirs of the above mentioned land and premises with their and every of their appertenances unto the said Charles Lee and Anne his wife, their heirs and assigns against him and said Joseph Dabbs, his heirs, executors & administrators and against all other persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by those presents.
