I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that William Shaw about 70 years 
of age late a serjeant in the Virgina Troops in the year before the last appears 
to have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of Virgina so that 
he is entitled to the sum of ten pounds yearly; which allowance is accordingly 
made him to commence from the first day of January 1786.  Given under my hand as 
Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, at Richmond, this 25th day of January 
1787.

1791 November--Zachariah Petty produced evidence he was one of the executors of 
Shaw's estate.  No document within gives exact date of Shaw's death.
