Benjamin Rowe discontinued as Deputy Clerk. Samuel Holt licensed to practice law in this Court. Robert White licensed to practice law in this Court. The Grand Jury presented the following; Jacob Pickle, stirring up an affray; Patrick Butler, same; John Hamilton, assault and battery committed on James Martin Early. Patrick Butler placed under bond for good behavior. John Hamilton placed under bond for good behavior. August 14, 1790. View taken of road up Jennen's Creek from the Seven Mile Tree to the Bedford Line. John Smith appointed Surveyor of the Road. View taken of wagon road from Town of Fincastle to Rockbridge County line, near house of Edward Biggs. Joseph Paxton, Surveyor of the Road, ordered to put and keep the bridge in repair over Beaver Dam Creek. Deputy State's Attorney ordered to proceed against former Clerks of this County for their neglect of duty while in said office. John McElwain appointed guardian of James Brownlee, orphan son of Alexander Brownlee, decd. Patrick Lockhart and Matthew Wilson securities. View taken of several ways proposed for wagon road from house of Abraham McConnell through McAfee's Gap to Sinking Creek. Christian Vineyard appointed Surveyor of the Road.
