Born October 19, 1916 in Circleville to James A. and Almina Wilshire Steele. Married Melvin J Hawley, June 26, 1936 in Tonopah, Nevada. Later solemnized in Manti Temple. He died Sept. 15, 2001. Spent childhood in Circleville and Ogden before her family moved to Delta. Graduated from Delta High School. Worked at Gardner's Dairy and Service Drug in Delta. Original member of Delta Red Cross Chapter. Served as a "Gray Lady" at West Millard Hospital. Active member LDS. Survived by son: Melvin J Jr (Paige) Hawley, Bountiful; daughter: Linda Sue (Vern) Stewart, Meadow; sister-in-law: Manon Robison, St George; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday Jan. 13, 2004, 12 noon in Delta First Ward. Friends call at church, Tuesday 10:30-11:40 am. Burial Delta Cemetery under Nickle Mortuary direction.
