Joe wrote to a grieving friend once that 82 years is a goodly age to have lived, and that any day is a wonderful day to pass because it means beginning a new wonderful experience and relationship with the Three Persons who are God. Regardless of how imperfectly or more perfectly anyone may have come to know and experience God in these years that relationship will begin to flower and unfold immediately after death. It is the only reason that we are, and God has prepared everything. Maria was born Aug. 25, 1977, in Frankfurt, Germany. She managed to touch many lives with her smile and has left many friends here on earth. Survivors include her parents, Paul and Jean Bonaventure, her brothers, Aaron and Alan, sister-in-law, Michelle, and nephew, Gage Bonaventure, all of San Angelo. Also, her paternal grandmother, Kathleen Bonaventure; a great-aunt, Josephine Ryan of San Antonio; and maternal grandmother, Marie Nelson of Fargo, N.D. Maria attended Bowie Elementary, Bonham Elementary and Glenn Junior High schools. She graduated from Central High School. She was making plans to attend Howard College to continue her education. Maria worked at the Concho Resource Center, Goodfellow Air Force Base Clinic and SITEL. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Maria's family believes that Maria was placed in their care for a purpose and that she has now achieved God's plan for her and has been called home. She helped make the world a brighter place for 20 short years. She has gone to a place where wheelchairs and broken bones are no more. Celebrate with us her life and death at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kenneth Holdorf officiating. Burial will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehab or the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, Inc., at 804 W. Diamond Ave., Suite 210, Gaithersburg, MD 20878.
