Cannon, one of the best stockmen in Northwest Texas, was shot in Seymour on the night of 28 June by Henry Jones, a bar-keeper. Mr. Cannon died from the effect of the wound on the 30th. His remains were taken to his home at Gainesville, for burial. He leaves a wife and widowed mother. John Piner, former editor of the Bonham News, committed suicide Friday. Liquor is supposed to have been the cause. He was a brother of Hon. E.F. Piner of Denton. Tuesday we had a pleasant talk with Col. Ed. Graham, of Graham, who spent the night here while enroute home. Col. Graham was all over this country years ago, before Albany was thought of, and while the white man was rare game sought for by the gentlemanly chivalrous Comanche, whose feudal castle was located on Cache Creek, in the B.I.T. The colonel says the town of Graham is improving steadily. F.E. Conrad & Co. Northwest corner of square
