Mrs. Preston was aged 30 years a good Christian woman, being a consistent member of the Ninth Street Baptist Church. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. B. Adkins from the residence of Dr. and Mrs. A. S. Love at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the city cemetery. The Banner-Leader with a host of other friends extend sympathy to the bereaved ones left to grieve for a loving wife, a tender daughter and a dear sister. Baptist Standard Mrs. Marinda May Preston, wife of H. C. Preston, was born July 29th, 1880. She died March 16th 1911. What, though the heart that so fondly loved her friends, has ceased to beat! That love, richer, deeper, unceasing is yet the same in the life which she now lives, with never a throb of pain. What, thought the hands which a short time ago served so patiently and willingly, are now quietly folded and stilll? They will gladly serve the Master in that larger life of service. What though the soul sense that loved so passionately all that was true and beautiful here, and the gifted mind that could so highly appreciate the choicest of this world's blessings are here not longer? They will drink deeply and forever in ecstacy of unvaried aspiration, the fulfillment of every longing desire of mind and spirit in the realms of eternal life. Living a full Christian life she died a beautiful death, thrusting her Savior to the last. We miss her. The husband missed a devoted wife, the four children a loving mother, the parents an affestionate daughter, the sister her only sister. The funeral was conducted at the home of her sister, Mrs. Dr. A. S. Love, after which the body was laid to rest in the Ballinger cemetery. W.
