Knox, age 80, the former Miss Mary Louise Murphy, passed away at her home in Jacksboro, March 13th, after a lingering illness. She was born at Fort Belknap. Her father was a Texas Ranger. On moving to Jacksboro, he was in the cattle business, living at the place known as the Murphy Spring, south of Los Creek. Mrs. Knox attended school in Jacksboro, and four years in New York where relative s lived. She was married to David L. Knox 60 years ago. He was in the mercantile business with his brother, the late J.W. Knox, and was also post master, with the post office in the store, when a young man. Later David Knox was vice-president of the First National Bank for many years. Funeral services were conducted at Thompson Funeral Home by Rev. Father Devers, March 14. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery by the side of her husband [David L. Knox] who preceded here in death 28 years ago. [1914] Survivors: one sister - Mrs. Walter S. Fant of Weatherford; one brother: Charles Murphy of Clarendon, who was unable to attend the funeral on account of illness, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: George Fant, J.P. McFarland, Weatherford; Knox Fant, Air Corps School, Bonham; Leslie Duerson, J.L. Worthington, J.S. Erwin. Out of town who attended funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Chris Knox of Corsicana; Mr. and Mrs. Cobb; Mrs. S.W. Knox of Fort Worth; Mrs. J.P. McFarland, Sr.; Miss Louise McFarland, Rev. John McCall, Jim L.
