Pine Top

Pine Top was located about 1/2 mile north of Butler in the eastern part of 
Freestone County. Pine Top was a traditionally Africian-American community.
The area around Pine Top is drained by Rocky Ford or Hickory Branch. 
In 1891, the school enrollment was 40 compared to Butler's 23 at the time.
