Freestone County, Texas Communities Old Ghost Towns - Never had a post office: Old Springseat The Old Springseat community was located about a quarter mile from the county line that separated Freestone and Leon counties. Old Springseat was about two miles southeast of Donie and thus also two miles east of the Trinity and Brazos Valley railroad. A quarter mile to the south was Zion and about a mile to the north was New Springseat. The land is drained by Alligator Creek on the east and south and Silver Creek on the west. Old Springseat was a traditionally African-American community. Church: Old Springseat Church (still existed in 1918, but is probably abandoned at that time).
