Fairfield Recorder - Thursday March 09, 2006 edition Rev. Glenn Montgomery Rev. Glenn Montgomery of Fairfield died Friday at the age of 77 in Fairfield. Funeral services were held Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Rev. Patrick Paul officiating. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery. Rev. Montgomery was born on May 29, 1928 in Beeville. He pastored in Fairfield from 1961 to 1965 and 1977 to 1991 and was the chaplain for the sheriff's office and the hospital for many years. Rev. Montgomery was also awarded a World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife Jean Montgomery; children David Montgomery of Fairfield and Bren Carr and husband John of Fairfield and his grandchildren, Christi Montgomery of Fairfield, Katie Carr of Austin, Chad Jackson of Denton, Justin Montgomery of Hilton Head, SC, Todd Jackson of Frisco and John Carr IV of Waco. Rev. Montgomery is also survived by a great grandchild, Blake Sandefer; twin brother Lynn Montgomery and sisters Francis Farr of Chilliss, Idaho and Noni Montgomery of Porter. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Ruby Montgomery and brother Don Montgomery. Pallbearers were Chad Jackson, Todd Jackson, Justin Montgomery and John Carr. Arrangements were by Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.
