Freestone County, Texas Obituaries ARLEN “LONNIE” HAM 2011-06-09 / Obituaries Funeral services were held Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Teague for Arlen “Lonnie” Ham, 77, of Freestone county who died May 30 at Parkview Regional Hospital of Mexia. Interment followed at Dew Cemetery. Mr. Ham was born September 5, 1933 to Riley and Bessie Willbanks Ham at the family’s home in Freestone county. He was known for riding horses, taking numerous rides from his home to Dew and Teague on his bicycle and walking the same routes while carrying his backpacks. Mr. Ham enjoyed visiting with people, especially merchants in Teague and he attended the workshop on North 8th Avenue for many years. Mr. Ham was a long time member of Corinth Baptist Church of Dew and a regular attendee until moving to the nuring home in Teague in 1993. He later joined the First United Methodist Church of Teague. Mr. Ham was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Willbanks Ham. He is survived by brothers Bob Riley Ham and wife Charlene of Lufkin and Charles Ham and wife Anne of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. At the family’s request, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice. Officiating services was the Reverend Alan Van Hooser. Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
