Beene, Jr., 87, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Longview, Texas, were held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia, Texas. Interment followed the service at Mexia Cemetery. Rev. Rick Cundieff officiated the services. Visitation with the family was held an hour prior to the service. Mr. Beene was born on December 30, 1918, in Mexia, to Guy H. and Nettie Wills Beene. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from Exxon after 36 years. He was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Longview, United Methodist Men and Exxon Retirement Club. He is survived by his wife Lorene Beene, his daughters Barbara Beene Dorsey and husband Danny, Jan Beene Austin and husband Aaron, all of Houston, Texas, his sister Louise Cundieff of Muldoon and his grandchildren Daron Dorsey, Heather Weitzel and Lauren Weitzel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Wendell Beene, Ray Beene, Rex Beene and Clifton Beene, his sisters Frances Clark, Ruth East and Hazel Lawson and his sons Guy H. Beene, III, and David Keith Beene. Pallbearers were his nephews Kenneth Beene, Dan Beene, Bill Beene, Don Beene, Jack Beene, Bobby Beene and David East.
