Compton and wife ------------------------------------------------------------------- The Teague Chronicle - Jan. 31, 1919 edition Death of Miss Bacon Miss Jessie Bacon, aged 21 years died Monday morning at 12:50 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joe W. Compton in the city of influenza-pneumonia. Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Bacon of Oakwood were with her during her illness. The remains were shipped to Oakwood and interment was made there Tuesday. Miss Bacon was teaching in the Freestone school and usually spent Saturday and Sunday here with her sister. She came to Teague on Saturday, eight days before her death and suffered an attack of influenza which being followed by pneumonia caused her death.
