FAIRFIELD  -  J.D. Adams, 72, of Fairfield died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997, in
Fairfield.
     
Service was Saturday, Aug. 23, in Capps Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Suits,
pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Fairfield, officiating. Burial was in Lake
Chapel Cemetery in Freestone County.
     
J. D. was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Dangerfield. He was a retired supervisor of a
gasoline plant with Transwestern. He was a member of Fairfield Masonic Lodge
103 AF&AM and Emmanuel Baptist Church of Fairfield.
     
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Payne Adams of Fairfield; a daughter, Carolyn
Centilli of Magnolia; a son, Jerry Don Adams of McQueeney; a sister, Ruby
McGehee of Hesperia, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
